Expert Analysis
Chris Smith | Prep Redzone Scout
The Warriors possibly had the best defense from the 2A ranks this year with Scharber being their standout edge rusher that had his best high school season yet. Throughout the entire 2024 campaign, Scharber was a constant force in the backfield where he produced 79 total tackles with 26 of them for loss along with 3 passes defended, 2 forced fumbles, 1 interception and 11 sacks. The Warriors edge defender was a constant force from start to finish and a key reason behind the team’s Class 2A state title. Scharber is also still available for the taking, so it will be interesting to see where he lands in college.

Joining Mays up front is this pass rusher that will have an important role in setting the edge against the Bulldogs run game and keeping their star running back in-check. Scharber has put forth a breakout senior year that has earned him a lot of honors but his biggest achievement could come in this championship contest where his play on defense will be important towards his team’s success.
