The Green Devils stepped out of classification and region last week to take on 5A power Sevier Co. and they dominated the Smoky Bears with Claridy being a major factor behind the victory. This senior pass catcher could not be stopped on his way to 209 yards receiving and three touchdowns against a Sevier Co. secondary that had no answers for him. Claridy’s athleticism and speed proved to be big difference makers in this game where he took the top off all night while hauling in some tough receptions. It’s been a breakout year for Claridy and one that has him on the radar for Mr. Football, especially with performances like this one.
One of the bigger breakout seniors so far this season has been this East Tennessee pass catcher that has absolutely demolished the competition with his speed and big play abilities. Claridy has been a game changer this Fall for his Green Devils team and because of his emergence, he won’t only see his stock rise in our Fall rankings update but he might also see a spike in his recruitment as well. What could force college coaches to look his way, including low level D1 schools is his speed and ability to provide a deep threat. Claridy has been torching secondaries all season long with his ability to get behind defenders. He has also displayed some of the best hands in the state, catching balls amongst contact and some tough ones you wouldn’t expect many to come down with. The one area that needs further development is his route running, though Claridy has improved in that area as well. I’m very interested to see how things play out for the Green Devils receiver because he has definitely earned greater praise and more college interest.
