Since transferring to Northern Durham, Edwards’ stats have been impressive. Turn on the film, though, and be prepared to be blown away. The stat sheet might say he recorded a sack. Watch that play, and you might just see him fight through a double-team and a running back to bring down the quarterback. His pass-rushing repertoire is advanced, and we think he’s going to put up more highlights down the stretch.

Edwards really impressed me when I did my deep dive series for the RDU area, He’s one of the most productive returning interior pass-rushers in the state and that’s where he shines. He’s still growing as a run defender, but it’s hard to find pass-rushers on the inside with that much juice and that will help him on the recruiting trail.

Edwards has one of the highest upsides of any interior pass-rusher in the state as he hasn’t really come close to his ceiling as a player. He’s a pass-rushing specialist with the quickness to split outside in bigger packages and the power to slide down to nose in short-yardage situations. His eight sacks and 17.5 tackles for loss are among the best in the state for a returning interior player.
