Expert Analysis
Paul Gregorian | Prep Redzone Scout
Schaaf is one of the best two-way lineman across the Sacramento region and has been criminally under-recruited to this point in his career. He is a plus athlete for his size, snaps out of his stance and gets immediate vertical push in the run game while showing good leverage and constant violence in pass pro and the run game. He shows finish abilities downfield, can pull and kickout/get to the second level with ease and is a high IQ blocker and true run stuffer on the other side of the LOS. He is going to be a big time late steal here for a college program and should receive plenty of post season accolades after his final prep year for the Lions.

Schaaf is one of the top ’27 linemen in the northern California region and is a nasty interior mauler that can play both tackle or guard. He has a nasty inside punch, strong leg drive/good base through contact and can finish blocks downfield with ease. He shows he can combo/scrape across the line to block in space and takes the proper angles to second level defenders. In pass protection, he stays within his frame and can quickly reset his hands while anchoring down against bull rushers. He should have plenty of FBS offers come his way after his Junior season.

Recent Offer: Sacramento State
One of the next up and coming linemen from the region, the 2027 prospect is coming off a stellar second season campaign and recently made the transfer to Destiny Christian from Burbank. Picking up his first offer, Schaaf is another young 2027 prospect that should see his recruiting stock rise through the Spring and into next season as he is a very intriguing player with the ideal size and athleticism for the D-I level.

Schaaf is still a raw and developing prospect but has the ideal size and frame for the tackle position in college with still two more seasons left. He has elite movement abilities, good feet in space and has a nasty inside punch that can finish blocks downfield and get out and pull in space at the second level. He also shows he can win with good power and natural strength at the point of attack. Making the move over to Destiny Christian for his Junior season from Burbank, he has tons of untapped potential and will be interesting to see on the camp circuit this off-season.
