About Shawn
Expert Analysis
Pat Weider | Prep Redzone Scout
Shawn Gray is an impressive offensive tackle prospect. He has the size (6’3″), strength, and athleticism you need from an offensive tackle. Playing as a right tackle last season as a sophomore, he showed a good ability to both run and pass block. He is a consistent player who rarely misses a block. As a run blocker, he has good ability to down block. He also shows a good ability to combo block up to the next level. Then, as a pass blocker, he shows the feet to stay in front of edge defenders. Gray has a bright future ahead of him as an offensive tackle prospect.

- 6’3, 250 pounds. Self-reports a 3.3 GPA.
- Right tackle at Shaler Area. Prototypical size for the position, want to see what his tape looks like at 265-270 pounds. Fantastic 2nd-half of rep performer. Great finisher who wants to bury kids in the run game. Can be a right tackle to lead/direct the flow of the run game, a play-side dominator who can work as a reach or down blocker. Room for improvement off the snap and early in reps, footwork can get him in better position. Pad level can be more consistent, but a ton of positives to work with, especially considering Gray is an underclassman. Likely to rank relatively high considering the full package he provides, size, lower back strength, leg drive, temperament, etc.
