Expert Analysis
Ed OBrien | Prep Redzone Scout
After watching his highlights, I can see why he has the ATH/LB designation. I saw a few plays of him at linebacker, but much more of him on the defensive line, especially at defensive tackle. The first play shows him firing from the Mike linebacker position and tackling the running back behind the line of scrimmage. When he has his hands in the dirt, he gets off the ball quickly and penetrates a lot. He may be undersized, but at the high school level, the disruption he can cause counters his lack of size for the position. Garcia displays formidable strength at the point of attack and keeps a low pad level. Several tackles at the line of scrimmage. Versatile defender in his team’s front seven.
