Sawyer was an underrated player last season, but the secret seems to be out on him and his skill. Colleges have taken note of his athletic build, quick first step and clear football IQ. He stands tall in the middle of the North Branch defense, diagnoses plays and absolutely flies to the ball. When he makes contact, it’s typically significant, jarring contact. He plays with that hair-on-fire style, and schools have started to take note. Absolutely a guy I would be doing my homework on if I were a program looking for a solid MLB.
