About Samuel

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is technique and strength based, but also flexible and willing to change as long as it is for developing my skills and improving my performance.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am dedicated, competitive, adaptable, hard-working, honest, kind, and competitive.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am in Jazz Band 1, freshman concert band, and marching band. I have received multiple awards for solos that were done during the Jazz band and Concert band seasons.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed empathy through the many times that I have volunteered at the local food bank, and I have also learned teamwork through the many sports I have done, such as basketball, football, and swimming. I have also developed leadership through band, as I am the first chair in the clarinet section, which means I must make sure the other clarinets are playing good as well.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have never faced any significant challenges besides mental hurdles that only made me a better person than I was before.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that not only challenges me, but lets my pursue my other passions, such as engineering and biology.

East contributed a tackle for loss and sack as a Waterloo West sophomore in 2025 but he also did work on the offensive side of the trench. The Wahawks reached the postseason for a second year in a row in large part because of the play of the hogs up front. East’s Hudl page mostly houses highlights from his freshman season, and scouts will want to see what he did as a 10th-grader. What we can witness is a physical presence that benefits from gaining leverage against opponents. He’s strong with good leg drive. It’s a skill set that could find success on either side of the ball but might be best utilized on defense with the explosion and power.
