Sam came to play right from the opening snap on Friday and had himself a stellar night. The Central Michigan commitment showed all the things you would want to see in a division one quarterback. Sam displays good balance in the pocket and excellent awareness. Sam layered throws to a bevy of wideouts and running backs spreading the ball around all night. Sam has a smooth release and the ball explodes out of his hands. It was also impressive how accurate sam was with ball placement putting the ball where only his pass catchers could make a play on it. Gross point south has an absolute weapon at the quarterback spot and suspect a good run from them in the fall.

Grosse Pointe South was one of the more interesting teams to follow last season. Sam and his team took out some top contenders throughout the season and had some impressive performances. Sam performed well in those big games, which makes me believe he could be a breakout star in 2026. He did some of his best work under pressure and having to scramble. He breaks contain easily, gets out and keeps his eyes downfield and delivers some huge throws. He’s accurate and is able to thread the ball through some tight windows, and layer the ball between the defense. He passes the eye test at 6’3, and his physical tools pair well. GPS will be a problem once again this fall, thanks to Sam and his talent.
