Ryland Day
Ryland Day
About Ryland
Expert Analysis

Ryland is another senior steal on the OL. Day checks in at 6’3″ 250 lbs, and he carries it very well. The room is there to continue to add the necessary size for the next level. Day also has the traits of a D2/D3 OL recruit. His pass protection was impressive vs a dominant DL. He trusted his feet to keep him between the rusher and the QB, used his length, and didn’t overextend when engaging. Day was also surprisingly stout at his size. He could absorb contact without giving ground, and his hands always seemed to be dead center of his man’s chest. Get this dude on your boards late.

An athlete who has worked himself into an impressive prospect. He is 6’3″ and has gone from 230 lbs a year ago to 250 lbs now. Despite the growth, Day is extremely light on his feet. Ryland definitely fits into the dancing bear category. Pulling across the formation is easy for Ryland, and Luxemburg-Casco love to put him in those situations. When he isn’t pulling, Ryland does a lot of zone blocking where he still gets to run laterally while engaged with his opponent. He also has the strength to get a good push and keep his defender moving. Ryland is also powerful when engaged. He can put defenders on their back and finish his blocks with aggression. Prepare for Ryland to explode this year. I think he has a high ceiling as a guard with his traits.
