Nagel is quickly making a habit of putting together ridiculous two-way performances. The Churchill junior athlete followed up his four-touchdown Week 4 outing with a five-score night, rushing for 232 yards and four touchdowns while adding a pick-six in a 46-19 victory over Springfield. Nagel has now shown that his impact isn’t limited to one side of the ball, consistently creating explosive plays as a runner and defender. After forcing turnovers and returning an interception for a touchdown the previous week, he once again found the end zone on defense while carrying Churchill’s offense. His recent run of production has been one of the most impressive individual storylines in 5A.
Nagel was everywhere in Churchill’s 43-13 win over North Eugene, putting together one of the most complete two-way performances of the week. The junior athlete rushed for 287 yards and three touchdowns while also making a major impact on defense. Nagel returned an interception 70 yards for a touchdown and forced two fumbles, giving him five total touchdowns and multiple game-changing plays across both sides of the ball. His combination of rushing production and defensive playmaking made him a central figure in Churchill’s convincing victory.
Nagel contributed valuable depth and production along Churchill’s defensive front, helping the team control the line of scrimmage during its playoff push. He plays with effort and leverage, consistently working to disrupt blocking schemes. His development trajectory suggests a player capable of taking on a larger role moving forward. Expect Nagel to be a bigger factor as he gains experience.
