Best player and best performance of the camp – in my humble opinion – comes out of Illinois and Oswego High School. The village of Oswego and the two high schools within its borders always seem to be stocked with scholarship and D1 prep football talent, and Wynn burst in the Missouri Valley recruiting scene due to his performance at the Jacks’ second & final prospect camp of the summer, earning an offer from the hosts and committing shortly after. Wynn kicked things off with an elite testing and athletic performance at his size, really placing a spotlight on his upcoming competitive performance later in the camp. Working with the TEs and competing against a talented LB group with a good range and variety of bodies and athleticism, Wynn produced an outstanding performance during blocking exercises, where he showed the strength and physicality to dominate at the point of attack. Wynn was also versatile enough to win 1v1s in reach, offset base, or even pass pro reps, and his bend and explosiveness off the snap as a blocker was as eye-catching as it was effective. One of my notes even had an expletive to pronounce just how aggressively he was beating LBs up. Plus, Wynn was just as effective as a pass catcher, where he proved himself to be a dynamic route runner who could drop his hips and create separation at the top of the route at will. A 6’4, 220 lb. deep threat who was running and winning routes like a wide receiver made for a very fun watch in Brookings from our perspective. Outstanding personal performance from Wynn that paid off and then some from the TE’s point of view as well.
