oman is a defensive back I’m interested in seeing more of as we continue going through the 2027 class. At this position, it’s not always about making the highlight reel interception. Sometimes the most important plays come from staying disciplined, understanding your assignment, and forcing a quarterback to look somewhere else with the football. Those are the details I pay attention to when evaluating defensive backs like Roman. Whether he’s working in man coverage or being asked to read the field in zone, the challenge is being consistent from snap to snap.
Roman brings real length to the secondary as a true 6’1 presence on the back end. In the first clip, he immediately makes his impact felt by stepping in front of a throw and securing an interception, showing strong timing and confidence attacking the football. He uses his frame well to close passing lanes and make quarterbacks think twice about testing him. Roman plays with steady positioning, tracks the ball cleanly through the air, and shows the ability to finish when opportunities come his way. Roman currently hold multiple offer from UTSA, Oregon State.
Roman stood out defensive back group with a mix of technique, athleticism, and consistent effort throughout the camp. In coverage drills, he displayed smooth footwork and quick hips, allowing him to stay tight on receivers and react sharply to route breaks. During backpedal and transition drills, Roman maintained balance and fluidity, quickly turning to contest passes without losing ground.
