Crowell gets into our rankings from the 8-man ranks and is a stout and explosive defensive tackle that should fit nicely inside in college and is a no-brainer D3+ caliber player at the next level. He plays with heavy hands, a high motor and can quickly knife into the backfield, read blocks and make plays behind the line with some quick use of hands and natural bend around the corner when rushing the passer. He has the ideal frame/size for the position in college and a good floor over the next few years of his college career. Look for Crowell to be one of the top players in the state across 8-man football and pickup some college interest as well.

Crowell comes from the 8-man ranks in Idaho and is the reigning Defensive Player of the year and should fit nicely as a defensive tackle at the next level. He is strong at the POA, has a quick first step and good initial inside punch while able to re-direct behind the line and quickly knife into the backfield. He shows he is stout against the run and can quickly reset the LOS while eating up double teams/drive blocks without losing ground. Still developing as a true technician, he has the ideal size and initial tools for the D3+ level in college and should draw plenty of next level attention through this off-season and into his Senior year for Council.

Crowell is a very active and high motor player that can lineup anywhere along the defensive front and shows pass rush abilities from either the edge or the interior. He has been off to a strong Junior season and is another name that will enter into our ranked prospects in the next update. He had a big weekend on Friday night and posted 4.5 TFL’s and 4 pressures in a blowout win over Crane. Crowell has the frame/size for either the edge or inside at the next level and has plenty of room to grow and develop but is a high floor guy that should draw plenty of D3+ interest this off-season.

Crowell is one of the top returning defenders at the 1A level across Idaho, and can shut down half of the field from his defensive end position. He is explosive off the ball with a quick first step and is stout against the run while able to take on blockers and make plays behind the line. He shows good closing speed when collapsing the pocket and getting into the backfield and moves very well for his size. On tape he also is smooth in the open field when tackling/tracking backside and flashes good change of direction abilities while able to breakdown in space. He is still extremely raw and a developing prospect, but Crowell has the ideal frame/size for the position and is a intriguing prospect to evaluate and would be good to see on the camp circuit this summer.
