Though he wasn’t a full-time starter all season, Ammons flashed as a freshman, throwing for 764 yards and adding nearly 250 yards on the ground. He’s putting on some weight in hopes of filling out a wiry frame, which should only help is dual-threat abilities. We’re excited to see what he can do during his sophomore season.

A two-sport athlete, Ammons was all over the field for Lakewood as a freshman, playing both quarterback and free safety. In Lakewood’s run-heavy system, he was an efficient passer, averaging close to nine yards per attempt and throwing for seven touchdowns. He was also a threat on the ground, adding 247 yards and five touchdowns. An excellent athlete, Ammons has a bright future ahead of him.
