About Rafeal
Expert Analysis
Alin Edouard | Prep Redzone Scout
Rafeal stood out as a smooth route runner for his age, showing natural control and fluid movement throughout his routes. He stayed balanced in and out of breaks, rarely wasted steps, and consistently created separation with clean technique rather than just speed. On top of that, his hands were a major strength he consistently secured the football cleanly, caught it away from his body, and showed the ability to finish plays even in traffic. He didn’t let the ball get into his frame, and he looked confident catching on the move as well as in contested situations

I got a chance to watch Rafael live at an Always Open camp, and he stood out immediately for how advanced his understanding of route running is at a young age. He doesn’t just run routes he shows real intent and awareness in how he sets up defenders.
Rafael does a good job with pacing, using tempo changes to create separation rather than relying purely on speed. He shows comfort sinking into breaks and staying balanced through his cuts, which helps him stay on time with the quarterback in different concepts.
What’s most impressive is how naturally he processes spacing. He finds windows in coverage and presents himself as a reliable target, especially in timing-based drills where precision matters.
