Anchoring the left side of the line for Merrillville the past couple of seasons is Ireland, who has quite a few boxes checked. He’s got strong hands and plays violently at the point of attack. He’s able to have success in pass pro and go on the move in the running game, but he’s best when staying true to Left Tackle duties such as pass protection, sealing the edge, and keeping the QB upright.

Merrillville has a fairly good offensive line and it’s because of guys like Ireland. We’ve highlighted his teammate in the section above, but what Ireland brings to the table is a player who knows how to flip that switch. When the ball is snapped, it’s all ball. He’s a high-motor player who will not only bust his tail to get downfield, but will make sure to keep his guy down and out of the play near the pocket. He’s strong, well built, and can play on both the outside and inside of the line.
