Steckler is a confident QB who not only looks the part but can make all the throws. He’s got decent footwork and was one of the better QBs from the pocket. He’s got a big arm that reaches down the field in a hurry. More importantly, he never seemed phased from an incompletion or anything. He stood in there confidently and let it rip. He seems like a guy who can dice up a defense if given time.

Multi-sport athlete. Dual-threat quarterback, mostly a runner who has enough speed to go the distance if he finds openings in lanes. Flashes some accuracy on the deep ball. Can be hard to catch from behind. Looks like he would be a more natural fit in college as a safety which he also has a history of playing. Size and strength are good to fit somewhere.

Steckler played both ways last year and showed some real flashes, especially when he stepped in at quarterback. He didn’t get a ton of chances to air it out, but he looked comfortable and confident when he did. On the ground, he was a real threat, rushing for 429 yards and 6 touchdowns. He moves well, reads the field, and knows when to take off and make something happen. I like his feel for the game and think he could take a big step forward if given more opportunities to lead the offense.
