Gayles jumped 15 spots to #17 overall after a strong spring. Explosive play making ability stems from his elite level track speed, ran a 10.76 100m and jumped 22’10.5” in the long jump making him to the ranked freshman long jumper in the state. He’s a dynamic athlete with the fluidity get in/out of his breaks and accelerate to create separation at all three levels. A creative route runner that sets up his routes by knowing where defenders are and how to release to avoid contact. Plus ball skills, he’s aggressive at the catch point while showing great concentration to catch the ball in a crowd. Speed and big play potential warrant national recruiting attention.

Gayles has had one of the best off-seasons of any prospect in the state of California and has had tremendous showings at multiple camps this Summer. He is an elite route runner with downfield seperation, explosion off the ball and can get off press coverage with ease. Gayles is already one of the fastest kids in the state as a Freshmen and has elite ball skills, route running abilities and tracks the ball well over the top with strong hands and is very physical at the POA. He already holds offers from Stanford, Cal and Oregon among others and should continue developing into one of the top receivers in the country.

Gayles was one of the most impressive prospects in the entire camp, and picked up offers from Oregon and Washington after competing and dominating all afternoon. He was extremely explosive and created tons of seperation while excelling against the camps top talent in the one on one sessions. He is a natural route runner that is smooth in and out of his breaks while having a big catch radius for his size and strong/consistent hands. Gayles is well on his way to becoming a national recruit over the next few years, and should be one of the more sought after pass catchers on the west coast.

Gayles is an elite athlete with track level speed at 5’11” 165 lbs. He shows great versatility to be a threat as both a receiver and ball carrier finishing his freshman season with 515 total yards and six touchdowns. He flashes great fluidity in his movement with the acceleration and change of direction to make defenders miss and create game breaking plays with the ball in his hands. Love his field awareness and creative instincts to avoid defenders. Plus ball skills, he’s aggressive at the catch point while showing great concentration to catch the ball in a crowd. Leaping ability allows him to go up and compete for the ball at the high point, often making plays over the top of defenders. Was the top ranked freshman long jumper in the country with a PR of 22′ 10.5”. Picked up his initial offer from Nevada in February but will be highly recruited as the recruiting cycle progresses for him.
