Expert Analysis

The 6’1″ 175 pound prospect hailing from ITC-Syracuse has outstanding athleticism paired with a solid build for the WR position. Gilbert can also contribute as a FS.
Gilbert has outstanding COD paired with fluid hips allowing him to appear across the field on almost every play. He is a sturdy receiver who absorbs contact and bounces off defenders improving his YAC.
He is a solid two-way prospect who has traits to play at both positions. He is an electric athlete who I believe projects mainly as a WR but can play in the secondary.

Athleticism allowed NyGuan Gilbert to do a lot of different actions on the football field at both the WR and the FS positions. Whenever he was operating at the FS position, the ability to flip his hips and change directions quickly stood out. Making electric INTs was a huge part of this young man’s tape and allowed his team to walk away with the win. Is aggressive in his approach to attacking after the football at both the WR and FS positions. Gilbert does not shy away from contact. Overall, Gilbert did make an impact at the WR position as well in open space with his ability after the catch.

Gilbert, a true SAF/WR prospect for ITC-Syracuse, is one of the best 2026 prospects in Syracuse. Gilbert has great ball skills on both sides of the ball and is an effective hands catcher. He shows good range and closing speed defensively and at the WR position flashes some ability to make guys miss in space being a reliable target at all three levels of the field.
