North’s 0-9 campaign was not filled with a lot of positives, but there were some of them. Lewis-Walker would be one. He piled up 86.5 tackles (73 solo) for a defense that was on the field a lot. Lewis-Walker also recovered two fumbles and picked off a pass. Highlights on his Hudl page are brief but provide a glimpse into his potential. Lewis-Walker plays with good instincts and quickness. His fundamentals are sound with room for sharpening. Already physical, Lewis-Walker’s frame has room to fill out and add strength. There’s a good amount of upside here.

A three-sport athlete that wrestles and runs track for Des Moines North, Nichaud Lewis-Walker returns for his final year of high school ball after posting 86.5 tackles for the Polar Bears last fall. After losing leading tackler Dein Gaye to graduation after he posted 102 tackles last season, Lewis-Walker will be relied on to lead North’s defense this fall from the backend.
Able to survey everything from the safety spot, Lewis-Walker doesn’t allow his small size to deter him from getting involved up front. A defender that will mix it up with the big guys, Lewis-Walker doesn’t shy away from contact or making a play defensively.
