Freeman is a backer that has the ability to play 2 gaps and can scrape over top when the back tries to bounce it to the outside. He has the ability to get into the backfield and create chaos, getting TFLs or being able to bring the QB down for a sack. He is a good open field tackler and has the speed to close the gap quickly. When he drops back into coverage, he can get to his correct depth and get his eye back to the QB coming down with an INT. He is still uncommitted and could be an impact player for whoever signs him.

Freeman was a heat seeking missile on the field for the Eagles. Throughout the game, he had 7 total tackles (2 solo, 5 assisted), 3 TFL, 2.0 sacks. He even got some action in the run game scoring a touchdown for the offense. Freeman has very good athletic ability due to very good speed and acceleration. Freeman was consistently all over the field, either assisting his teammates or making the tackle out in open space. He has very good mental processing, by identifying which gaps to rush leading to a TFL or a sack. Freeman would also watch the QB’s eyes leading him to making a play. He was eating up the run game, and had an excellent performance. Very good in zone coverage too. Freeman is the complete package at linebacker, whether it’s stopping the run, rushing the QB, or locking down a zone, he is your guy.

Freeman is that hybrid Sam or Will backer that has the ability to play DB as well with his speed. He is able to spread out to get hands on receivers to reroute them, dropping back into coverage and coming down with an INT. He is dangerous after he gets his hands on the ball and can take it for a pick 6. He is able to set the edge, get off of the block and make a play, being a good open field tackler. He is a hard hitting backer that can stop ball carriers in their tracks and can dislodge the ball from receivers at times as well. He will be an under the radar guy that is going to make a big jump this season.
