If you didn’t know before, you better learn now: don’t throw it in #12’s direction. Taveras is a versatile ballhawk who fits the prototype of safeties who build successful careers in college and the pros.

Taveras was a defensive juggernaut in Brentwood’s 33-6 rivalry win over Bay Shore. He found himself in the end zone often throughout the afternoon, scoring three defensive touchdowns.

With two pick-sixes of 32 and 78 yards, alongside a 50-yard scoop-and-score.  Add a sack, two tackles for loss, and a blocked punt that led to another Indians touchdown. The senior took over on the road.

Coaches love players who can make plays on both defense and special teams. Match that with Taveras’ awareness at safety and a quick trigger to attack in the run game.
