Stewart as a vision-based perimeter runner whose game is built around patience, field awareness, and acceleration once lanes develop. He shows good second-level burst, especially on counter and sweep concepts where he reads blocks well and quickly transitions into open space.
Stewart consistently presses the edge on perimeter runs and demonstrates the ability to change directions when needed. On one particular play, he reverses field and finds daylight for a long run. Stewart has a controlled and efficient running style, focusing on being patient and using his vision to find open lanes.
Despite his lean frame, Stewart runs hard, absorbs contact, and keeps on going. He has enough permeate speed to create chunk plays once he reaches the second level. He’ll need to add some mass to his frame if he wants to stay at running back at the next level. Stewart is a perimeter-oriented runner who would thrive in sweep, outside-zone, and misdirection-based run schemes.
Michael had a huge game for North Hagerstown in their victory over Tuscarora last week. He rushed for 181 yards on an impressive 10.06 ypc and had 2 rushing TDs. After his game 1 performance Michael put himself at #6 in the states highest rushing totals, with most player above him having player in 2 or more games already this season.
A good framed RB with an upright running style, Michael is capable of changing direction quickly as he shows rapid feet and nice wiggle. He is best in counter or mis-direction type runs as he can get up to speed and use his vision to his advantage. On his biggest TD run of the game of 55yds, Michael came one way, got away from some tacklers, then reversed field going back all the way to the opposite sideline where he proceeded to turn it up into 2nd gear and out run everyone to the end zone. Michael can also take it between the tackles. Hitting the hole with burst and getting downhill with low pad level. Hit quick cut ability and vision as a RB makes him dangerous as a runner. You just know eventually he will break the big one and I see him putting up similar numbers week after week for North Hagerstown.
