Murphy had a huge offensive game in Week 5, and Xavier needed every bit of it to defeat Jonathan Law, 42-41. Murphy completed 13-of-23 passes for 292 yards and two touchdowns in the win, and also ran for 71 yards and two touchdowns on 16 rushing attempts. Law led by five points after three quarters, but Murphy led Xavier to three touchdown drives in the fourth. The victory raised Xavier’s record to 3-2.
