Expert Analysis
Mark Johnson | Prep Redzone Scout
We got a great look at the standout junior’s pass blocking talents in Week One. The long, and still rather lean at 280 lbs, athlete has a well developing lower body. Quick feet that are able to slide and change direction while, good body control that keeps him square over his feet as he mirrors pass rushers, and a stout punch to stifle bull or speed rushers. I will be waiting for more weekly highlights to continue to learn more about his game, and see how he develops over the year. A top athlete to know at the position, without question.

Marek hails from Orland Park and lit it up in his sophomore campaign. The 6’4, 285 lbs right tackle from Sandburg High School impressed in both the run game and in pass protection. Starting with the run game, Marek gets downhill in a hurry and uses his size and arms to drive on defenders. He plays with physicality and works to get defensive linemen on the ground. He uses leverage extremely well and understands angles, often putting Marek in a strong position to win his matchup. In pass protection, Marek closes space well and attacks on-coming pass rushers, rather than waiting for them to attack him. Be on the lookout for Marek heading into his junior season.
