The #1 ranked overall athlete in California for the 2029 class, he stands out as a rare multi-positional talent with the versatility to change a game from anywhere on the field. Elite athleticism with fluid movement paired with top-tier long speed and exceptional body control that makes transitions between positions look effortless. At running back, he shows natural instincts, patience, and the ability to explode through creases for chunk plays. As a receiver, he demonstrates clean releases, smooth route running, and the ability to adjust to the ball mid-air. His ability with the ball in his hands sets him apart being extremely smooth with his quick cuts and lateral movement to consistently make defenders miss in space. With 26 offers already secured, he is a premier national prospect whose combination of skill, versatility, and athletic ceiling makes him one of the most coveted players in the class.

This former OG Duck is my type of complete back with speed and hands. Makai embodies natural athleticism, body control, and a smooth running style in and out of holes that applies pressure to defenses on all facets. He is still developing physically but already has the height to scan over his offensive line and high point balls that might seem out of reach. A shredded long muscular build is a precursor for what’s to come in the future when the high school of his choice puts more pounds on. I would argue this past March would be a highlight of his career by receiving MVP honors and a UA All-American invite. Then a week later Ole Miss pulls the trigger on a verbal offer. The stage is set!
