A playmaking North Georgia tight end who plays the position like a receiver, Powell brings really good size and ball skills to the Lumpkin County offense at 6-foot-5 205-pounds. He can stretch the field vertically and does a great job of using his frame to win battles down the field against smaller defensive backs. He tracks the ball well and can be tough to tackle after the catch. One of the top sleeper tight end prospects across the state in the 2027 class, Powell will be added to the updated rankings later this summer after a strong 2025 season where he hauled in 43 passes for 542 yards and four touchdowns. His recruitment is heating up and he’s added offers this spring from Kennesaw State, Georgia State and more.

Powell now has three offers under his belt as his recruitment is starting to come full circle from when I saw him in-person last February. He is a tall, lean, athletic player who is all of 6’5 205 with plenty of room to fill out. He will likely be listed as a TE, but he will do his damage as a big target down the field. When I saw him in person, I was impressed by how smooth and effortless his routes were. He had access to the entire field, and he flashed good hands outside of his frame. Powell is a traits eval, but those traits should give him a crack at the D1 level.
