A big matchup with Martinsville brought out the best in Starnes, but it was a great game all around. It was a high-scoring shootout, and the offenses were on fire. Starnes led Plainfield on the ground, ripping off multiple big runs and hitting the endzone three times. He had 162 rushing yards on the night, which gives him just under 1400 rushing yards and 18 TDs.

Starnes not only is off to a great start to the season, but he’s showing he can be a workhorse back who will take the beatings in between the tackles and produce at a high level. Friday night he ripped off big run after big run. It seemed like every time he touched the ball he was shooting out the backside of the hole. He finished the night with 256 rushing yards and 3 TDs on the night as they ran past Harrison.
