Lucas is a stacked LB and RB for Briar Woods, and his initial film on the season looks good. His discipline jumps out to me quickly in both positions, using his eyes to key his assignment and attacking it quickly with explosiveness and burst. As an LB, he attacks his gap with aggression when he engages blocks and creates separation with his hands to shed and make the tackle. On offense, he runs with good pad level, physical toughness, and contact balance. What I especially like in his Fort Hill highlights below is his willingness to be a blocker out of the backfield in pass protection. As an all-state selection last season, he is continuing his great play this season.

Somehow we missed Lucas in our class of ’25 rankings, and we’ll take the blame. He is a great player for Briar Woods and sticks his nose into every play evidenced by his 130 tackles last season (per his Hudl highlight). He has very quick read and reaction to the offensive play and quickly comes downhill to fill his gap. He knows how to use his hands to shed blocks and is a strong tackler. He has good range as a LB to cover the outside run. You will also see him playing Fullback on offense leading the way for the running back as a lead blocker.
