Akpa has been one of the more highly regarded offensive tackle prospects in the western region through the Spring and now into the Fall, and has seen some big time power 4 colleges come in and offer in recent weeks. The Serra standout has extreme athleticism and tons of growth potential due to his frame and length, and is a no brainer P4 caliber prospect at the tackle position. Akpa is now up to 15 offers, and recently pulled in offers from Minnesota and Iowa State last week and remains one of the top uncommitted prospects in the western region.

Akpa is an athletic 6’6” 260 lbs. with reach (84 inch wingspan) and growth potential in his frame to add weight. He’s an aggressive blocker that accelerates through contact and is able to shock rushers with a powerful initial punch. Plus movement skills and quick feet allow him to gain depth on the snap in pass protection and work to the perimeter/second level with ease. Shows he can execute different blocking techniques and adjust to defensive stunts as the play is developing. Does a good job creating positional leverage at the POA by taking proper angles to his blocks. High level recruit that has earned 13 D1 offers and is projected to keep climbing rankings and recruiting boards.
