Trujillo is currently leading Colorado in tackles. The 5’8 158-pound MLB/RB has had 62 tackles (23 solo, 39 assisted), 0.5 sack, 9.5 TFL, 3 QB pressures, 1 FR, 50 carries for 421 yards with 6 touchdowns, including 2 receptions for 57 yards with 1 touchdown. Trujillo has good athletic ability due to very good lateral quickness, acceleration, good balance, and speed. Trujillo has good read and reaction skills. He trusts what he sees and attacks. Very good sideline to sideline range. Trujillo excels as a downhill linebacker stuffing gaps and getting into the backfield. Uses his running back vision to get into the backfield and make the TFL. Good get off and block shedding skills. He has shown to be a strong tackler and will help his teammates finish tackles. Very good competitive toughness and relentless pursuit. Due to his size, I think he would excel more as a box safety at the next level, but he does a great job at attacking the run and making his presence felt.
Trujillo brings a physical mentality to the linebacker position, carrying the same toughness and intensity that makes him effective on offense into his defensive role. Last season, he had 97 total tackles and 8.5 tackles for loss, consistently proving to be a dependable presence against the run. Trujillo excels at attacking downhill, meeting ball carriers in the gap and delivering strong finishes that stop plays quickly. His physical approach and willingness to engage make him a difficult player for offenses to account for between the tackles. As he continues to develop his overall game, exposure through camps and the 7v7 circuit could help increase his visibility and showcase his ability in space. Trujillo already has the production and mindset coaches value at linebacker and another productive offseason could position him as a notable riser in the 2027 class.
