About Layden

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play fast and physical and I love competing. I can move around to different positions and try to make plays any way I can. I take a lot of pride in special teams and bringing energy every snap.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m competitive, coachable, and always trying to improve. I take football seriously, work hard, and try to be a good teammate on and off the field.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Most of my time outside of school goes into football, training, and community involvement. I’m involved with Michigan Made 7v7, speed and strength training, track, volunteer work, food drives, parade and town clean up events, fundraiser tournaments, concert setup/cleanup, and other community activities through school and sports. I’ve also been on the Honor Roll while balancing athletics and school

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Football has taught me leadership, teamwork, discipline, and accountability. I’ve learned how important communication and pushing teammates to get better really is.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Recovering from labrum surgery this offseason was a challenge because I had to miss time and stay patient through rehab. It helped me become mentally tougher and made me appreciate being able to compete even more.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college with a strong culture, good relationships with coaches, and a place where I can compete and keep developing on and off the field. I want it to feel like a home away from home and be around teammates that feel like brothers.

If your looking for a pure football player look no further that this young man. The stocky built Millington product showed up to saginaw in a big way. I was very impressed with Layden’s hands during the pass catching portion of camp. I don’t think one ball hit the ground that layden was able to get a hand on. I was also impressed with Laydens ability to run good crisp routes and adjust in mid air to back shoulder throws. One thing is for sure in terms of Layden , where ever he lines up on Friday nights he is going to be a problem for defenses.
