Griggs measures in at 5’5 135-pounds and is an explosive receiver for Montbello. Last season, he had 17 receptions for 220 yards and 2 touchdowns. He has good athletic ability due to very good speed, change of direction, good jumping, and acceleration. Griggs showcases a good release at the line of scrimmage and fights through contact to get open. Very good separation quickness using his athleticism to consistently beat DBs and get open. Good ball tracking and catching. Will extend his arms out and pluck the ball out of the air. Good ball adjustment and body control. Griggs thrives getting yards after the catch. Using his speed, he’ll run past 2nd and 3rd level defenders for big gains. Look for him to take that next step as we arrive into the season
Griggs is a receiver who plays with a high motor and a team first mentality, bringing value beyond being just a receiver. Despite not having ideal size, he compensates with effort, toughness and a willingness to contribute in all phases of the game. Griggs is an effective blocker on the perimeter, helping set the edge and spring teammates for additional yardage. He also contributes on special teams, showcasing his versatility and overall athleticism. Griggs finished the season with 17 receptions for 220 yards and two touchdowns and now at Montbello, he will have the opportunity to carve out a larger offensive role. With increased opportunities and continued development, he has the potential to elevate his production and become a more prominent playmaker. His work ethic and versatility make him a prospect worth monitoring.
Griggs transferred to Montbello from Overland and had a solid season. Measuring in at 5’5 145-pounds, Griggs had 17 receptions for 220 yards with 2 touchdowns, and 41 rushing yards. Griggs has good athletic ability due to his very good speed, change of direction, good acceleration, and jumping. Good release at the line of scrimmage. Very good separation quickness due to his athletic ability and finding soft spots in the zone. Good ball tracking and catching. Good ball adjustment and body control. After the catch, Griggs uses his home run speed to blaze past defenders. He’s another player that I’m excited to see develop more into next season.
Griggs may not have the prototypical size at 5’4 but he more than makes up for it with heart, versatility, and football IQ. A returning varsity contributor, Griggs can line up in the slot, motion into the backfield or be used as a gadget player to keep defenses guessing. He thrives in short yardage and third down situations, consistently finding ways to move the chains. His quickness and low center of gravity allow him to navigate through traffic and be slippery enough to make defenders miss. Griggs plays with a chip on his shoulder and brings toughness to every snap. He’s a player you can’t measure by size alone and he is looking to prove it every time he touches the ball.

Good competitive toughness to help his teammates finish tackles. Good tackling on special teams and defense. As a receiver, he has a solid release with good separation quickness. He has good catching and comes down with the ball. I’m excited to see more from Griggs as he develops more as a player.
