McDonald is one of the top players in the bay area and should have a standout senior season for Hayward. He can play anywhere on offense and is a natural ball carrier, is explosive downfield with strong hands and a big catch radius with going up to get the ball and is dangerous after the catch with twitch and open field speed in the clear.

McDonald is a gifted athlete with a dynamic skillset to be an impact player in all three phases at multiple positions. Demonstrates great all around game speed. He’s quick in the short area, flashes a hard burst, and has the long speed to break away once in space. Flashes good natural instincts with the ball in his hands with the spatial awareness and elusiveness to avoid tacklers using sudden cuts and explosive acceleration. Started the 2025 season as a WR but came on strong late as an RB finishing with 914 yards and 10 touchdowns on just 57 carries to average 16 yards per touch. Holds 4 D1 offers to date and his positional flexibility and athleticism could see him play a variety of positions at that level including RB, WR, and DB.

McDonald has been one of the top breakout players we have seen this season across the region, and is a explosive athlete that can effect the game from the backfield, slot or on the outside. He has elite downfield speed, strong hands when going up to win at the POA and has the ideal short area twitch and wiggle in the open field when making tacklers miss. He also flashes he can be a diverse route runner with precise cuts, patience and knows how to beat both man and zone coverage from anywhere on the field. McDonald is a big reason why Hayward has stamped their ticket to the NCS D4 section title game as he posted impressive numbers in the semi-finals going for 100+ yards rushing and 2 score while adding another 2 scores receiving as well.

McDonald made the transfer to Hayward this off-season and is one of the most explosive playmakers across the Bay Area. He can play on the outside or backfield and has elite downfield speed and ball skills while a gifted runner after the catch with short area twitch, good vision in space and a third level gear. He has been having a stellar season so far and should lead the Farmers into the NCS playoff’s next week and make a post-season push. He erupted this week and rushed for over 165 yards and 3 scores in a big win over Irvington. McDonald holds a couple D1 offers already, but is a name to note this off-season as others should continue to roll in once he gets on the camp circuit and schools come by for winter/spring eval periods.

McDonald’s continues to be one of the most explosive players regardless of class across northern California and has been off to a stellar start to his sophomore campaign for the Lancers. McDonald has been showing he can take over games and dominate in all three phases, and is a truly elite athlete with downfield speed and outstanding ball skills/natural abilities after the catch in the open field. He should really start to see his recruitment pickup this off-season and through the Fall, as he is one of the top 2027 prospects across the region. He had another explosive night on Friday with 5 total touchdowns, 3 receiving and 2 on special teams in Tennyson’s blowout win over Mt. Eden.

McDonald is one of the better young 2027 prospects in the state of California, and is an elite athlete with natural ball skills, open field speed and can play on both sides of the ball while impacting the game in all three phases. The sophomore phenom holds an early offer from UNLV, and should see other FBS schools come in and offer this off-season or late Fall. He did it all against Hayward over the weekend and went for 250+ APY and 3 scores, and should be one of the more dominant players regardless of class this Fall around the Bay Area.

Explosive athleticism and speed to be a difference maker in all three phases. Can line up and be effective playing any skilled position on the field but excelled as a freshman out of the slot and at CB. At 5’10” 155 lbs. his speed and natural playmaking ability make him a homerun threat every time he touches the ball. Possesses high level body control, leaping ability, and ball skills to attack and compete for the it in the air. Does a great job tracking and adjusting downfield. Love his short area acceleration and sustained second gear to breakaway from defenders in the open field. On defense, he shows great range and change of direction to stay in phase and cover all three depths of the field. One of the top ranked two-way athletes in his class that picked up his initial offer from UNLV in early March and is sure to add more as he progresses through the recruiting process.
