Holmes is a versatile athlete who lines up as a wildcat quarterback, wide receiver, cornerback, and returner for Dunbar. He’s a playmaker who creates with speed, vision, and ball skills. Holmes has a nice burst to him and can change direction immediately once he hits a crease. The film shows plenty of evidence that he has the speed to finish long runs and not get caught. He’s hard to tackle in space and does a great job following his blockers (as seen in his punt-return touchdown highlight). I do like the two plays he makes on defense that end up as interceptiosn from the cornerback spot, catching a tipped ball and taking it back 90-plus yards for a touchdown and undercutting a receiver for the other one. Suffice to say, Holmes makes an impact for his team wherever he lines up.

Class 2A/1A South 1st Team Offense selection.

Holmes is the leading returning rusher on offense (48 carries for 399 yards and eight touchdowns in 13 games) and also had 101 receiving yards and 104 kickoff-return yards. Defensively, he intercepted five passes, broke over seven others, and forced two fumbles. Expect to see Holmes make it known that he’s one of the better two-way players in the state this season. He will most likely get a lot more chances to make big plays with the football in his hands even more.
