Jones has put together back-to-back seasons where he’s dominated near the LOS and shuts down the run game as well as anyone in the state. He’s got a quick first step near the line and has the core strength to fight interior and exterior linemen. I like the fact that he’ll move around and keep them guessing. Over the past 2 seasons, he’s put up 49 TFLs. This year altogether though, he’s nearly doubled everything else. 94 total tackles, 22 TFLs, 3 sacks, 1 PBU, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. He’s highly productive, has the frame, and upside you’re looking for.

We highlighted Jones early in the season as someone who started to play Varsity and make plays. He finished the year excelling and putting together an overall sound year. He’s got fantastic range and can cover sideline to sideline. He has the length to play with TEs and his 58 tackles, 4 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles finished his season.

Jones is a physical linebacker who likes to be near the ball. He’s a strong and shifty guy who can get up underneath blockers and get right by them. He’s not going to miss a tackle when it comes his way and when he rushes the QB he’s at least going to pressure them. I also like his ability to communicate on the field and hand off receivers in zone. He seems to be ahead of schedule in a few areas which is good to see as well. With 24 tackles, a class leading 13 TFLs, 10 hurries, 3 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles it’s pretty easy to see why Elkhart is excited about this young man.
