Taiese is one of the top defensive linemen across northern California and had a big spring hauling in multiple D1 offers. He committed to SDSU at the end of June and is a very nice get for the Mountain West as he has a P4 ceiling. A very technically sound player with heavy hands/initial strike that can redirect and win with both speed and power at the POA, he is very athletic for his size with twitch and can play either nose or defensive tackle. He had a huge game against St. Francis where he had 2 sacks and was a key piece in stopping the Lancers run heavy attack with multiple D1 offensive lineman up front.

Taiese exploded onto the scene this Spring for the Oakland powerhouse and has racked up offers from the likes of SJSU, SDSU, Colorado State, New Mexico and Sac State among others. He is very athletic for the inside and has plus length at 6’2″ and change, and is snappy and twitchy out of his stance with active hands, natural bend and is stout against the run while able to eat up blocks on the interior. He checks into our rankings as a top 35 player at his position in a loaded group across California and will be one of the Bay Area’s best heading into the 2025 season.
