Heading into his senior year, Rust has stepped right into the starting Quarterback position for Catholic Memorial. His leadership is second to none as he takes control of the huddle and rallies guys around him. Rust has shown his true colors as a dual-threat quarterback by taking off and running when necessary, thanks to his athleticism. Rust has a nice zip on the ball, with pinpoint accuracy as he goes through his reads.

He makes great decisons with the ball in his hands, taking what the defense gives him, including taking off and running when necessary. Rust delivers the deep ball with pinpoint accuracy. He needs to work on setting his feet when throwing on the run. As a ball carrier he shows off blazing speed when reaching to the second level.
