About King

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I can play defense tackle or defense end. I like to use finesse moves. I would consider myself fast for my position. I’m a hard hitter and vs larger running backs I hit low and drive my feet. I’m a great tackler. I’m very good at identifying a pass or run. I’m very good at pass rushing. I am lengthy with a 6’1 wingspan at 5’7, because of that I get lots of pass deflections at the line.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I don’t give up on plays. I’m not scared of larger players than me. I hold high standards for myself. I will work harder than anyone else. I am a honor roll student and will focus on my grades. Im a team player and will always pick my teammates up. And most importantly im a leader

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

No I try to focus on football and grades but I’m open to it.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I think I have great leadership skills. I’ve been playing tackle football for 5 years and have always been a standout. As far as communities I mow lawns, clean cars, pull weeds, and play with the neighborhood kids.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have lived at my grandparents most my life with my mom and three little brothers, my dad is a big part of my life and has always pushed me to be better by taking me to camps and trainers. My mom has had it hard raising 4 kids and givings us her best.

What type of college are you looking for?

Honestly I don’t care I want to play football. It doesn’t matter if I have to move across the country as long as I will be somewhere where I have a opportunity to make the nfl.

I noticed Grant early during the opening session of the tryout due to his stature, but it took a bit for him to win me over. He moved well through bag drills and looked to be one of the more athletic kids at the first session. It wasn’t until the hitting started where his strengths as an Edge defender came to light. He has a Linebacker build, and after watching film I see that he operates out of a standup stance, but he still held his own getting down in a three-point stance as the coaches asked. He’s an interesting chess piece and I’m interested to see if – A.) he makes the team and B.) what further development will turn him into.
