Nearly a 9’0 broad, a very respectable 4.62 40 (HT) posted too. I liked Murrell during testing and individuals. Some may have out-shined him during 1v1s and that’s totally okay, especially considering the competition present. Consistent, not too many ups or downs, a respectable perforamnce put forth by the Burton 2027. Solid body control and balance for a kid standing at 6’2, 165 pounds. I didn’t witness Murrell round off breaks, I didn’t witness Murrell telegraph routes as he ran them. This is likely an even better play with pads on, excited to cut on his tape in the future.
Wide Receiver and Defensive back prospect with solid height and a good frame. Good athletic ability with good foot speed, balance, change of direction, lateral movement, explosiveness, solid acceleration, and hip fluidity. As a Wide Receiver, he has solid release off the line of scrimmage into his routes. Good route running on Seams, Posts, and Corners where he operates best. Very good adjustment and body control to catch the ball, using his size to box out defensive backs and able to catch balls outside of his frame with his very good grip strength and hands, with good foot control on the sidelines to remain in bounds. Room to develop on his initial release and to fill out his route tree with change of direction type routes. He is a Safety prospect on defense. Limited film is available on his season highlights. What sticks out is his good ball skills as a deep safety, reading the route concept with good reaction to the throw to break on the ball with his good speed to be in a position to make a play. Overall, I like him best as a Wide Receiver prospect who has big play potential running deep routes with his very good adjust and hands to haul in the catch.
