Another burner of a receiver. A tad slower than the elite, but a better, more well-rounded playmaker than most.
Does well in all areas of the field. Short-intermediate routes, he’s great after the catch. Quick to turn upfield after the catch, and has shown good change of direction.
Routes are hit-or-miss. He’s athletic enough to be an elite route runner, but sometimes struggles to get his feet perfectly under him. Mind moves faster than feet at times.
Progressing very well. Excellent sophomore season, and an obvious Power 4 prospect at this point in time.

The last time I wrote about Kellen was 11 months ago. I noted that the tape on his Twitter was unreal, and I’d be shocked if he didn’t earn D1 offers soon.
Well, look where we’re at now. Since my last coverage, Kellen has earned offers from Toledo, Central Michigan, Marshall, Miami (OH), Pitt, and Kent State.
Kellen’s tape demonstrates his abilities quite well. He’s a pure route-runner. Kellen knows how to get open, and has the hands & body control to catch difficult balls. If he’s given space, Kellen has breakaway speed, but lacked the contact balance to make the most of some of his targets. Other than contact balance, Kellen is a super well-rounded receiver, and a weapon in kick return. Dude is a major bright spot for UofD!

Kellen was one of the bright spots for this UofD team. In fact, UofD’s only touchdown came from a high-effort punt return from Kellen.
Offensively, Kellen did well at receiver. Off the top of my head, Kellen had one bad drop but mostly ran good routes all game. He didn’t get a ton of offensive opportunities, but when he was targeted, he did more with the opportunity than most others.
Defensively, Kellen was one of the more willing tacklers. Although I thought he could have run to the ball quicker, he didn’t play scared if a tackle opportunity presented itself. He even had one BIG hit on Javari at the end of the game, which was promising to see.
Kellen is obviously a very talented freshman for UofD. If he continues the upward trend, he’ll have a great season, and he’ll be in for a major breakout year in 2025 at either Safety or Receiver.

Man!!! Although I can’t find a ton of tape, I am very impressed with the quality of what’s on his Twitter. Just check out the two routes in the tweet below. In the first clip, I’m highly impressed by how fluidly Kellen breaks down and changes direction. In the second clip, you can see some of that straight-line speed and ball tracking. Kellen looks like he’ll be a Varsity contributor as a Freshman, and I’d frankly be shocked if he didn’t earn Division 1 offers by December. Kellen will very likely be Ranked by the next update, and I cannot wait to follow Kellen’s career from this point on.
