Keelyn Johnson is a top notch talent that has amazing length and body size frame for a DB. He is standing at 6’2 and can fly athletically at the DB spot. He’s a name to really keep an eye on because he’s always around the ball and has next level size once he develops. Johnson is certainly a “Ballhawk”

One of the most impressive DB/WR combo guys in the state of Georgia, Keelyn Johnson is a dude who can really make an impact anywhere he’s at. This is undoubtedly one of the guys I feel will make an impact early in his high school career.

A big body receiver who has great ball skills and has the ability to win jump ball situations against any defensive back. Johnson is a very solid route runner and can create space during his routes using his frame. Johnson’s hand, eye coordination is very good and helps him pinpoint the ball in tight situations. Defensively, he can use his size to dictate where the QB throws the football which gives him a chance to jump the ball in the secondary. He possesses very good defensive ball skills in the secondary.

Quite literally, I only learned of Johnson this morning for the first time (9/12/24), while I was watching film of his QB at Feagin Mill Middle School, Keirion Tate. Now, that could be because Johnson strapped the pads back on this 2024-2025 season/cycle for the first time in three years. At 6-foot-2 and 170-pounds, the kid looks like a special athlete. He’s a presence on both sides of the ball, using his length and physicality for positive outcomes. Offensively he’s a stretch-the-field type of Wide Receiver that should win most jump balls. Defensively, he has been playing Cornerback with Safety and Outside Linebacker (at this point) size. Also a factor in the return game. On top of him not playing in three years, the scariest part about Johnson is that he’s already a well-known basketball prospect.
