Ke’Drid is an edge defender who has some impressive tools to work with, especially when it comes to getting after the quarterback. He does a good job attacking offensive tackles and finding ways to work his way into the backfield. What I like about his game is his ability to get off the line and put pressure on the offense without wasting much time. He shows good effort when pursuing plays and isn’t afraid to get involved against the run. Ke’Drid also has the ability to use his hands to fight through blocks and create opportunities for himself along the defensive front.

Smith looks the part before the ball is even snapped. He brings elite length for the position and pairs it with real edge speed. His first step threatens tackles immediately, forcing oversets and opening up counters. The athletic profile is obvious, and college programs have already taken notice with early offers from Arkansas, Houston, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and SMU. Smith is still refining his hand usage, but the ceiling is high. With continued technical development, he projects as a true difference-maker off the edge.

Smith boasts a long, lean frame with plenty of upside. He flashes a quick first step off the edge and closes ground fast on ball carriers. His length and athleticism make him a disruptive presence, and he’s a defender to keep a close eye on throughout the offseason as his game continues to expand.
