Brown-Wells’ physical profile is really interesting. On the surface, you’d think he fits best, physically, at corner, given his speed and length. Then you watch him throw around weight in the weight room and realize why he’s able to thrive as a box safety for Terry Sanford. While we’d had him ranked for a while, our coverage counter tool indicated earlier this offseason that we hadn’t given him enough coverage. That led me down a rabbit hole of his film. Ultimately led to the decision to move him up the rankings.

Brown-Wells is a physical player, even as an undersized safety-linebacker hybrid. He loves to come downhill and make plays in the backfield. He’s already grown a bit in the last year, and if he continues to do that, his game should continue to evolve. His physical profile suggests he’ll have more ball production in the passing game next year. We’re excited to see how he plays this season as a key piece on what should be an inexperienced but talented defensive unit at Terry Sanford.
