Karter has seemed to be a hot-commodity already this Spring at the few camps I have tracked him at and that certainly didn’t change at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Combine, as he is now a 2-time back to back DL MVP. From what myself and our silent evaluator saw out of Karter, is he has created more athleticism and improved testing numberssince December, but yet has added almost 10 pounds to his frame too which was good to see. Karter has become more elusive with his hands in drills, and my eyes thought he has developed his footwork with more dexterity when turning the corner to get to the ball carrier. Karter also has been one that has great pad-level for his age and I felt his instincts had improved since last December in Jamestown. Our DL2 in 2026, looks like an early offer target in my eyes out of Groton, SD (population 1380) as this kid has constantly went up against bigger competition and constantly rose his stock over the last handful of months and counting.

Our DL2 in South Dakota, has skyrocketed up our 2026 board which started at our Dakotas Combine in Jamestown over the winter, in which he was named our DL MVP. The athletic mobility Karter shows off for 6’3 265 shows off a quick trigger with his change of direction and carries much more range on tape than you would expect out that body type, which is why I could see Karter moving outside as a defensive end at the next level. I am intrigued with the quick bounce off he shows with shedding his hands as there is consistent instinct there. Karter has one heck of a motor that is built with high stamina paly after play and is one I will put a scholarship-level grade on already. Karter is my highest graded prospect to ever come out of Groton High since we launched in 2020 too.

The elusively quick hand speed Karter showed off in the reps I watched out him were damaging at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase as the 6’3 260 pound defensive linemen from small town Groton, South Dakota took home our DL MVP in Jamestown. Not only were Karter’s hands quick, he showed off a fluid pad-level with his hand positioning from the reps I watched and won a handful of reps with his excellent position angles which allowed him to get downhill quickly. The athleticism that Karter showed off along with his next-level ideal measurables certainly puts him as a South Dakota 2026 prospect to know that has a very high ceiling. This kid is the definition of a hidden gem out of North Central South Dakota in my eyes.
