Shaffer lands on our watch list in the updated 2029 rankings and is a key young name to note across the WCAL that should have a excellent second season campaign for the Wildcats. He is a natural route runner with strong hands, big catch radius and can make big plays after the catch. Although currently a bit undersized, he has plenty of room to grow and develop over the next three years and is a name that should be popping up this off-season on the camp and showcase circuit.

The third Coyote Creek product in this write up alone, Shaffer is another kid who lit up the 1 Vizion Combine testing ahead of the draft. The slippery Cornerback/Wide Receiver combo was a true combine warrior, as he was the only prospect to finish with a Top-5 score in every combine drill. Shaffer finished with an electronically timed 4.86 in the forty (2nd overall), a 7.75 in the 3-Cone Drill (5th overall), a 4.44 in the Shuttle (3rd overall) and a 27.5″ in the vertical (3rd overall). No matter how you slice it, or what position you want to try to label him as, the kid is an athlete. I’d be shocked if he doesn’t make at least one play that makes people wonder why he wasn’t drafted earlier.
