Stepping into a new situation this Fall at Whitehaven, Shelton has transitioned very well into the team’s starting quarterback where the offense appears to be built around him and his dual threat abilities. The Tigers junior prospect looks much improved from last year where Shelton looks bigger, stronger and faster while showing more knowledge for handling an RPO spread offense. He displays good reads within his mid-season highlights along with separating speed once into the field and arm power to push the ball down field. Shelton is starting to look the part of a legit college guy that still has more room for further development. The way he looks right now, I could see D1, possible Power Four schools taking an interest in his next level potential. Accuracy and mechanics are the two things I believe Shelton must work on to continue pushing his game forward but his junior film shows a prospect not far off from becoming a highly pursued quarterback.

Shelton is a good player for Germantown, showing flashes of being one of the top quarterbacks in the state. He’s a good passer who’s accurate while having a nice touch on his throws and a good deep ball. The sophomore QB is confident in the pocket and moves around well.
While he’s a good passer, Shelton can also hurt you with his legs. He’s fast but also has good vision to weave around defenders.
