Jordan Jones: Elusive Playmaker with Vision and Open-Field Magic
Jordan Jones is a dynamic, space-oriented running back who brings elusiveness and vision to the backfield. A natural playmaker, Jones thrives when the ball is in his hands, using sharp cuts, quick feet, and excellent field awareness to create chunk plays out of tight windows.
What sets Jones apart is his ability to see the field develop. His ball-carrier vision allows him to anticipate running lanes and make decisive cuts into open space, often leaving defenders grasping at air. Whether it’s slipping through traffic or making defenders miss in the open field, he shows an advanced feel for navigating through congestion and maximizing yardage.
Jones played a key role in Perryville’s impressive 10-3 season, finishing with 639 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. As he continues to develop physically and refine his skill set, Jones has the tools to become a true feature back and one of the most exciting offensive weapons in his class.

What I’m looking for from him this season:
He has instincts as a runner and is elusive enough to get himself out of trouble in the backfield. Jones does a good job of identifying cutback lanes. I want to see if he’s gotten faster since the end of last season. Does he have that second gear to pull away from defenders? I also want to know if he has a more explosive start out of the gate. If he’s improved in those two areas, Jones’ stock will go up even more.

Not sure if anyway had a bigger standout out weekend for Jordon as Perryville won big time over Elkton. Jordon was responsible for 4 total TDs on the night, 3 rushing and 1 receiving. He was a workhouse for Perryville all night long and was playing both ways at LB as well. Running the ball, Jordon showed nice patience and great footwork in the hole. He was able to make guys miss with strong cuts, run through arm tackles and show off some good speed to get into the end zone. It was a highlight game for Jordon and I expect him to have many more like it this season.

Jones led 2027 running backs with 11 touchdowns and 555 rushing yards. Jones has good size and speed and is a weapon for Perryville already. His home run play was the counter last season, where he hit off a couple 40+ yards touchdown runs. He displays some breakaway speed, allowing him to get around the corner in the run game and he runs with some power, keeping his feet moving and fighting for extra yards after contact. Jones could develop into a very nice RB prospect by 2027, he’s just getting started.
