About me
I'm Jon Shay, I play football for Annville-Cleona Secondary School. As a junior, I had 13 receptions for 187 yards, 43 carries for 276 yards, and 71 tackles with 3 sacks. 1st Team All-County Offense, 2nd Team All-County Defense, 1st Team All-Section DE, Punter and Defensive Lineman of the Year, and 2nd Team All-Section Athlete Offense and All-State Honorable Mention DE.
What position(s) do you play? What do you view as your strengths?
I see myself as a versatile player. At 6'3", 200 lbs I play many different positions including RB, WR, DE, and Punter. My strengths are my blocking and I am a threat as both a receiver and a runner. I pride myself on my physicality and football acumen.
What type of school are you looking for?
I don't plan to limit myself to a particular division or location. I am looking for a school with majors in government/law/criminal justice that will allow me to continue to compete in the sport I love. I am described as coachable and versatile - I'm willing to accept any role a coach feels will most benefit the team. Athletic and academic scholarships will weigh heavily in my school selection.
What are your interests outside of Football?
I'm a 3 sport athlete - basketball in winter and track and field in the spring. I spend time volunteering as a youth football coach and am planning on joining the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America as a mentor to local elementary students. My free time is spent with my friends and family - attending church and Sunday breakfast each week with my grandparents.
